Bishop's Bowling Bible - the BBB |
Daniel Russell Bishop (pictured above) is Oakwood Hills leading strike bowler. Over the coming months Daniel will be sharing his and some of his friends cricketing hints and tips.
This week Daniel was unfortunately too busy to complete his BBB article. Rumour has it that this was most probably due to him packing his Jean Paul Gautier man bag full to the brim with hair products and aftershave in preparation for the tour next week, in an attempt to look and smell nice for all the northern birds. In his place at the last minute (Ed - on TCs suggestion) veteran Charlie Rose (pictured below) has stepped into Daniels shoes and shared with us some of his cricketing memories.

"Charlie, when was your first game?"
>>It was in 1965 in Burpham, I scored 5 not out, took two wickets and I was aged 14 years of age.
So Charlie having been an ex-playing member of Cranleigh no doubt you enjoyed today's win but what was your favourite play of the game today?"
>>
Watching the skipper Spitzy being stumped.
"And the catch of day?"
>>Again that goes to Spitzy
"If you could describe Alex Overingtons innings today in two words what would those two words be?"
>>Slog & ger!
"It was a fairly tight game today and there best batter was dropped on zero, off your bowling and then went on to make 80 odd runs, do you have any encouragement to Neil "the salmon" Overington for dropping that catch?"
>>More practice!
Its not gone unnoticed by the editing staff at Oakwoodhillcc.com that you like your umpiring. How come?
>>I like giving people out, particularly like today when I raised my finger to Kitch!
"So do you have a favourite innings so far in your career?"
>>Yes I do, I may have mentioned it once or twice before, but I once hit 7 consecutive sixes and went on to score 135 not out in a game.
The web editing team would like to thank Mr Charlie Rose for his time in conducting this interview.
